SpotPump is a free, informational tool. We try to surface the best public data we can, but we can't promise it's perfect — please use it accordingly.
The service is informational
Gas prices, the buy/wait signal, the volatility chip, the crude oil charts, the news feed — all of it is for general information. None of it is financial advice. Don't make trading, hedging, or investment decisions based on what SpotPump shows.
Prices can be wrong or stale
Pump prices come from third parties (Google Places, plus a SerpApi fallback). We filter out anything older than three days, but the displayed price may still differ from the actual price at the pump. Always verify at the station before filling up.
Crude oil and economic data update on different cadences (intraday, daily, weekly). Each piece of data on the site shows when it was last refreshed.
No warranty
SpotPump is provided "as is" with no warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee uptime, accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose. Your use of the service is at your own risk.
No liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, the operators of SpotPump aren't liable for any damages — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or anything else — arising from your use of the service or the data it shows.
Don't abuse it
Please don't:
- Scrape the site or its APIs at scale
- Rebrand and re-host SpotPump as your own product
- Try to bypass our rate limits or other protections
- Use the service for anything illegal
Casual personal use is welcome and what we're built for.
Third-party services
SpotPump depends on third-party services to function (Google Places, Open Charge Map, Mapbox, Massive.com, EIA, NewsAPI, OpenStreetMap, CartoDB). We're not responsible for outages, errors, or changes on their end. Your use of those services through SpotPump is also subject to their respective terms.
Changes
These terms may change. We'll update this page and date the change when we do. Continuing to use SpotPump after changes means you accept the new terms.
